DICK WOOLLCOMBE – Artist By Alan Woollcombe

TALK: Dick lived for over 80 years in the Tamar Valley and was one of the valley’s leading market gardeners of the post-war period. Yet unknown to the wider public, this family man had a secret passion: painting. Largely self-taught and intensely private, he developed a style described as a cross between Beryl Cook the painter and Carl Giles the cartoonist - yet unlike either of them, he never became a big name.
