The Wharf has been described as the Jewel of Tavistock - one of the most elegant towns in the South West. Located between the River Tavy and the Tavistock canal, the Wharf was built in the eighteenth century as a busy industrial centre, and was converted by the local council to its present form in 1995. Since then it has been privately run as an arts centre with theatre, concert hall, cinema and art gallery, with a unique waterside coffee shop and bar.

Live Concerts – Described by the press as one of the finest live music venues in the south west, our live concert venue can accommodate 400 standing or 200 seated. With a state of the art sound and lighting system we run regular live music events.
Theatre – Our theatre shows many events by both local and national companies. We have full facilities including sound and lighting systems, dressing rooms and multiple stage access.
Cinema – The Wharf cinema shows current films from blockbusters to the latest releases, and our new film club will be showing many of the old classics not released to the TV companies.
Art Gallery – We are very proud of our art gallery, and we have hosted many exhibitions both from local and international artists.
Coffee Shop and Waterside Terrace – The coffee shop has 32 covers and caters for a wide variety of tastes with mostly home cooked meals. It is an excellent venue for both locals and corporate meetings. The unique waterside terrace can also accommodate 32 covers, and is a very pleasant venue for all types of functions. It is used to extend both the coffee shop and the bar, and during live concerts, we run a barbeque for that pre-event meal.
Piano Bar – Our bar has an excellent range of house and real ales, wines of all nations and is an excellent meeting point for all our functions. Our late licence allows us to cater for all events and the bar can be hired along with all our other facilities.
