Throughout the 1980’s Mercedes had become a formidable musical force, gaining a massive and loyal following. As an extremely tight three-piece band comprising guitar, bass and drums, (together with their superb harmonized vocals), they played to packed houses throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. However, after many TV and Radio appearances, gruelling recording sessions and hundreds of live dates, and “many disappointments”, the band split. However they reformed in 1998 with a line up which included keyboards – but after just over two years, went their separate ways to embark on a range of individual musical projects.
By chance, ex-Mercedes guitarist Keith Wilford happened to hear some recordings made at various live Mercedes performances - much to his surprise, he really liked what he heard and had forgotten just how amazing the band sounded together - well, it had been ten years! So, Mercedes are back with the same exciting line-up as their 1998 incarnation with Keith Wilford, David Heap, Malcolm Middleton and Dave Holmes.
With superb close-knit harmonies, incredibly catchy melodies and some wonderful lyrics to match, Mercedes make a welcome return to The Wharf for a gig that will be truly unmissable!
